Ways to Help . . .

As a result of a weekly Interfaith/Faith-Based phone call based in Philadelphia, below is a list of ways people can help during this Covid-19 Crisis.

Examples; from today’s call:

1.  http://serve.volunteermatch.org/ is a website where people can search for volunteer needs.  Some of the biggest needs right now can be found by choosing “Hunger” in the “Cause Areas” (food packing for meal distribution programs, etc.).

2.  Philadelphia’s Outreach program (helps build relationships with people on the streets, towards people being able to access broader services) is requesting from interested people the assembly of as many Hygiene Kits as possible, which Outreach workers can distribute to people, as they continue Outreach on the streets at this time.  More information can be made available, if anyone is interested in working on this sort of project.

3.  The Institute on Aging Friendship Line—800-971-0016 (https://www.ioaging.org/services/all-inclusive-health-care/friendship-line)—is a phone number that any senior citizen can call if they need someone to talk to.
