Message from Pastor Diane: Service to Witness the Life and Resurrection of Louise McLean, World Communion Sunday, Peacemaking

Greetings in the peace and love of Christ!
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff- they comfort me.
You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long. (Psalm 23)

RESURRECTION TO ETERNAL LIFE
Our community gathers in mourning the death of long-time church member Louise McLean, and offers prayers of sympathy for her family and friends. A service to witness the life and resurrection of Louise will take place here in our sanctuary this Thursday, October 1, at 1 p.m., with visiting at 12:30 p.m.. The service and visitation will be done safely and socially distant, and will also be streamed live on our website, so that all may join in this time of worship and care.
SUNDAY OCTOBER 4, is World Communion Sunday. We will celebrate communion safely with Christians all around the globe
during our 10:30 am worship service. There are THREE ways to take part in worship and partake of the Lord’s Supper. You may:
  • Gather safely in our sanctuary
  • Gather safely outside, streaming the worship service and safely being served communion
  • Remain at home, watching the streamed service, and requesting communion be brought to you at home after our worship service, by an elder or deacon.
If you wish to have communion brought to your home, please contact Raelyn Harman, our church administrator, at admin@ardmorepres.org or 610-642-6650, by Wednesday, 9/30.
We are blessed that wherever two or more are gathered, the Spirit of God meets us and makes this meal holy.
PEACEMAKING:
This Sunday we celebrate Jesus as the Prince of Peace through giving to the Peacemaking Offering. This is one of several offerings through the year that help focus our prayers, giving and action as Christians. Check out what our prayers and funds are helping with at https://specialofferings.pcusa.org/stories/and consider donating through APC or directly https://specialofferings.pcusa.org/make-a-gift/gift-info/.
Praying for you,
Pastor Diane
