Message from Pastor Diane, Nov. 6: Links to Worship on Nov. 8, Stewardship, Congregational Mtg., Book Discussion & Art

Greeting to the APC community:
The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. (2 Corinthians 9:6-7

THIS SUNDAY is STEWARDSHIP SUNDAY:
Our Stewardship Sunday will be November 8. We ask you to please mail or bring your pledge card to church by November 8. For safety reasons, we will not be “walking pledge cards forward” this year, in a show of offering your “gifts” to God. It is clear that 2020 is the year when everything is different!
Prayerfully consider the ways God and APC has blessed you, how you have been Empowered by God and how you can Respond by Grace. As we look ahead to welcoming our pastoral candidate to the pulpit next week, how will you be part of sharing the faith and hope of Jesus Christ? Your pledge makes it all possible!
CONGREGATIONAL MEETING and MEET & GREET– NOVEMBER 15:
The session has called for a Congregational Meeting on Sunday, November 15, immediately following our 10:30 am worship service. The purpose of the meeting is to receive a report and recommendation from the PNC to extend a call to the next Pastor of APC and vote on the terms of call. The meeting will be streamed live. In hopes of a positive vote for our next Pastor, there will be time after the meeting to greet the pastor and his family, outside (weather permitting) and socially distant with masks. There will also be boxed lunches and treats available for those present. Hoping folks can bring along a blanket or camp chair to safely celebrate this new chapter in the life of APC.
BOOK DISCUSSION:
Our next book will be Searching for Sunday, by Rachel Held Evans. Our discussion will be held on Thursday, 11/19, at 7 p.m.. You can participate either from the Mill Creek Room or via zoom. Sisters Anna Poorman and Holly Vicki will be leading the discussion.
ART IN A STRESSFUL TIME:
If you are feeling anxious and stressed about the uncertainty in our country right now, here are some FREE COLORING PAGES– to help keep you focused on God and hopefully reduce the stress!
In gratitude for all of God’s blessings,
Pastor Diane
