Children’s Church

Sundays during worship

Children begin their time in the sanctuary for worship and the children’s message, and later leave the service for their own “Children’s Church” experience. Children’s Church is “one-room school house” style class is available to kids ages pre-k through 5th grade every Sunday. The class is taught by adult (and sometimes youth!) volunteers, and typically includes discussion of a Bible story or passage of scripture, and a craft or activity relating to that discussion. After Children’s Church, the children return to the sanctuary to rejoin their parents.

Wednesday PLUS

5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.

PLUS stands for Play, Learn, Unwind, and Sing! This evening program is for elementary grades 2-5 and PreK – 1st grade. Children begin their time with music, practicing in the Children’s Choir (grades 2 -5) or Cherub Choir (PreK – 1st grade). They then spend time together learning Bible stories and making crafts and doing special projects (older kids), and playing games and on the playground (younger kids). All are welcome!

Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Each summer in June, campers will explore the depths of Jesus’ love through a series of crafts, games, snacks—and a lot of fun. Our VBS program is open to all children in pre-k through 5th grade. All are welcome!

Middle School Youth Group

Every other Sunday, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

At these gatherings middle and high school youth, engage in conversation on current issues as they relate to our Christian faith, enjoy dinner, and play games. Throughout the year, APC’s Youth Group participates in service and mission projects, attends youth retreats. Check the church calendar for updates about Youth Group meetings and events!

Confirmation Class

At the baptism of our children, we declare that they belong to God. The church also promises to raise them in faith. We pray that in time they themselves would affirm the covenant made at their baptism. For our congregation, confirmation is an important step in that process.
