In Lower Merion, the Code Blue program is a winter emergency effort that opens temporary overnight shelters when temperatures drop to 32°F or below. Hosted by local churches and supported by volunteers, these warm, safe spaces provide protection and basic care for people experiencing homelessness during the coldest nights of the season.
During the month of February, APC will host the Code Blue overnight shelter for neighbors experiencing homelessness.
With frigid temperatures continuing, we expect several guests each night seeking a safe place to sleep.
Two volunteers are needed for each shift, to open the shelter:
