CHRISTMAS GIVING OPPORTUNITIES AT APC
(in addition to Alternative Gift cards)
CHESTER EASTSIDE MINISTRIES
For many, many years APC has collected gifts for Chester Eastside Ministries (doing a little research—in 1982, CEM was called the T.M. Chester Center). The giving was started through the Women’s Association and has been continued through APC’s Mission Awareness Committee (MAC). In the past toys, craft items, books, gift cards and more were brought to APC and then delivered to CEM where their faithful volunteers would set-up an amazing Christmas Bazaar where local families could come and “shop” (without needing money) for gifts for their children. There were also wrapping stations so that parents could take the gifts home wrapped and ready to go under their tree.
During this time of Covid-19, changes have needed to be made. (It is currently not safe for large numbers of people to be together setting up the Bazaar or shopping onsite side by side.) This year GIFT CARDS (to Target and Walmart – two stores convenient to those in the CEM area) will be given to families beginning the first week in December. We wanted all of you who have a history of giving to CEM to know about this change. For those who are led, gift cards can be left with Raelyn in the Church Office or given to Joanne Poorman during November. They will be delivered to Chester Eastside Ministries the first week in December.

Thankfully, giving in Christ’s name can still happen even during Covid-19
