A Note From Pastor Jason Regarding Christmas Eve

“Let us go now to Bethlehem and see this thing that
has taken place.” ~ Luke 2:15

We invite you to APC on Christmas Eve to “see this thing that has taken place.” Like the shepherds and angels, we will have an opportunity to praise God and say, “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace among those whom he favors.”

We are happy to provide options for you and your family on Christmas Eve as you seek to offer praise.

Our Christmas Eve Family Service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Prior to entering the sanctuary, you may stop by and sing Christmas carols in the courtyard with Gary at the keyboard. Once you have entered the sanctuary, one of our ushers will seat you and your family. These and other modifications are a result of increasing COVID-19 cases and the advent of the Omicron variant in our area. We will still be blessed by choral singing during the service, but the congregation will offer its praise by singing Silent Night and Joy to the World outside at its conclusion. Just as the shepherds were outside on that Holy Night, we will be outside with our lights praising God. We will also livestream this service to the Mill Creek Room if our youngsters might have a need to move around. Needless to say, this service will be livestreamed to the comfort of your living room as well!

Then, you are invited to attend our 10:00 p.m. Lessons and Carols Service. There will be a musical prelude beginning at 9:45, so if you arrive early, you’ll be treated to some excellent pre-service music. Since we expect a smaller crowd and can space people throughout the sanctuary, we will maintain indoor congregational singing at this service. For those of you who are still awake wrapping last-minute gifts, this service will be livestreamed.

Mask-wearing is required for both services.

Friends, I am looking forward to worshipping with you in whatever form that may look like this Christmas Eve.

Hope, Peace, Love, Joy, Christ,
Jason
