APC supports immigrants to the U.S. through the ministry of Welcoming the Stranger, a non-profit organization led by Rev. Sturgis Poorman. The motivation for this ministry comes from Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 25:35 which reminds us that whenever we welcome a stranger we are really welcoming Jesus himself. On Sunday March 8, immediately following worship, Rev Poorman will share details of how Welcoming the Stranger uses education and personal relationships to provide help for newcomers to our country. One of his students, Mohammad Noorani, an immigrant from Iran, will also share his experiences as a student in an English class conducted by Welcoming the Stranger.   If you are at all curious about the immigration issue in the U.S and about how Jesus is active in the midst of it, come and join us on March 8. A light luncheon will be served.
