Might "Visitation Ministry" be something God is calling you to participate in? Often when APC members are in the hospital, or living in a life care facility, or confined to their home, a visit can be a real gift to them. If you are feeling led in this direction, please plan to meet with others this Saturday, Ocober 11 from 10 a.m. to Noon (Mill Creek Room). This will be an opportunity to hear from those who are currently visiting members of our church and to ask questions. For more information, contact Deacon Viola Terwiesch at 610-658-2302 or Nan Clarke at 610-649-5468.

Have you worshipped at Ardmore Presbyterian Church enough to be thinking, "This may be the church home to which God is calling me?" If so, please pray about being part of the three-week new members' series to be held Sundays, October 12, 19 and 26 at 9:00 a.m. (Parlor). Over coffee and breakfast goodies we will get to know one another and talk about things such as "What led you to APC?", "Who are Presbyterians?", and "How do we meet and know God today?" To be included please talk to Interim Pastor Mike Pulsifer or contact Joanne Poorman at 610-642-6650, Ext. 15 or at admin@ardmorepres.org.

Plan to participate in the 30th Annual Main Line CROP Walk on Sunday, October 19th at 1:00 p.m. (Suburban Square parking lot). Last year the Main Line CROP Walk raised $8,005 to alleviate hunger worldwide and to provide disaster relief. If you want to be a walker or a sponsor, please contact Alan Abel (610-649-4655) or Ralph Miller (610-642-8359).

Relief Kits for Families in Iraq are needed in the church office by Friday, October 24th. This is a good opportunity to work together as a youth fellowship, Sunday School class, choir, etc. to purchase kit items. Full details in September 15th newsletter.

Young Professionals (20's and 30's, Singles and Married). Come to dinner and a round table discussion about the ways in which an ancient text like the Bible can speak to the contemporary issues of our historical and cultural moment on Sunday, November 2 beginning at 6 p.m. at the home of Nan and Boyd Clarke, 265 Cheswold Lane, Haverford. RSVP to clark5@comcast.net or by phone at 610-649-5468.

"Finding God in the Dark" - A viewing and discussion for adults of the movie "A Simple Plan" (1998) starring Bill Paxton, Bridget Fonda, and Billy Bob Thorton and directed by Sam Raimc. We will meet Sunday, November 2 at 6 p.m. (Fellowship Hall). Leader: Mike Pulisifer.

Join us during the month of November for Fall Vesper Services in the Taize tradition. We will focus on the theme of thanksgiving. We invite you to take time from the busyness of life to join us for 35 minutes of singing, reflection and meditation, prayer, and communion. The first service will be on Wednesday, November 5 at 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel and our final service will be on Thanksgiving Eve.

Ministry of Hospitality - Needed: A few folks who would be willing to be part of a team that would assume responsibility for receptions at the church following funerals of church members. If you would be willing to serve our church family in this way or need more information, please contact Nan Clarke at clarke5@comcast.net or 610-649-5468.

More and more folks are stopping by the Ardmore Community Food Cupboard housed at APC.  All non-perishable goods (pasta, cereal, juice, peanut butter, canned fruites and vegetables, SPAM, stew, etc.) are welcome.  October special needs: Progresso soups, tuna fish and SPAM. Please leave items in the narthex on Sundays or in the church office. Our food cupboard is open to any in the surrounding area who for whatever reason are not able to get through the month on the resources they have. Some folks who come to the food cupboard are referred to us by ElderNet or other social service agencies.
